WESTERN UNION WIN BACK TO BACK FBL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Western Union started best in the first quarter to lead by 6 at the first break, but Rangers fought back during the final few minutes of the second quarter to be just 2 points down at half time (41-39). For Western Union it was their reliable scorers in Bong Alambra, Jun Bautista and Emerson Patenia who contributed on the score sheet, while for Rangers much of the scoring was left to the Naguit brothers (Jay and Jomar).
The 3rd quarter was a lack lustre period with both teams making many fundamental errors. Western Union led at the final break by 6 points and when Western Union Head Coach Jun Aclan was forced to use a time-out to get his charges minds back on the job late in the quarter, his “go to” players responded.
The 4th quarter belonged to Western Union as they settled better into their own game once again while Rangers seemed to not want to correct the many mistakes they continued to make. Each time the Rangers team looked like closing the gap, they managed to turn the ball over through silly errors, while Western Union capitalized on each error to draw further away, to have a comfortable win 83-68.
The FBL now goes into their end of season break and will re-commence in February next year.
