Award Winning Clubs
At a gala event on October 20 at the ‘new’ Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, Community Clubs Association of Victoria (CCAV) presented their 2010 Annual Awards to clubs, in recognition of the contributions to their members and local communities.
In presenting the awards, CCAV’s President Mr Leon Wiegard, OAM, said “Victorian clubs perform a valuable and unique role in sustaining healthy communities. They keep people active and engaged as well as providing a broad range of facilities and resources”.
A highlight of the awards was the presentation of Best Tatts Gaming Club of the Year Award to....
Ballarat Leagues Club.
The award is given to the best community-focussed Tatts gaming club that can demonstrate, a well appointed and presented gaming room, a responsible gambling environment and significant community contribution.
CCAV is a peak body representing the interests of these community clubs from small volunteer-based sporting clubs through to very large clubs with multi-million dollar turnovers.
CCAV members have one overriding thing in common; they are not-for-profit entities that provide facilities, support and entertainment for their members and broader communities.
