St Kilda
City has won the Division 1 Grand Final over Chelsea Heights at Springvale Reserve
on Sunday.
For what
could be argued as one of the best Division 1 Grand Finals seen in recent
years, St Kilda City got on top in the last quarter to run out 27 point winners.
The Jim
Meneilly Medal for Best on Ground went to Number 17 Matt McPhee (St Kilda City)
who stood up in the last quarter when the City boys really needed him.
In other
results on the day, Cheltenham were comfortable winners over Chelsea Heights in
the Reserves by 65 points.
The last
time Cheltenham Reserves won a premiership was in 1958 when they were
Captained/Coached by the late Jack Barker who sadly passed away last Friday.
The Dennis
Malcolm Medal for Best on Ground went to Number 11 Corey Weekes (Cheltenham).
Skye and Dingley
were rightfully the two best Colts sides all year and it showed in the Grand
Final.
Skye
started well and Dingley tried all game to stay in touch however Skye finished
strong in the last quarter to run out 42 point winners.
The Barnes Medal
for Best on Ground went to Number 8 Sam Fox (Skye).
