Saints ruckman Matt Hammond will find it tough to top 2010.
After representing Queensland at the Australian Country Football Championships in July, Hammond won his third premiership on Saturday, as well as the Howard Kennedy medal for best on ground.
The 23 year old was honoured to be recognised for his efforts in the Grand Final, but says the premiership has the most valuable prize.
“This year I had a couple of really close mates come up from down south to play and that makes it all the more special,” he said.
“I was definitely surprised to win. There were a couple of players who probably could have got it, but the people choosing it thought something different.
“But I’m just happy to have the premiership medal. That’s the important one for me.”
