Jack Jenkins from West End is the winner of the 2010 Under 14 Best & Fairest Award. Jack has had an outstanding season, which was highlighted by the fact that he polled votes in every game except for Round 1, winning with a total of 32 Votes. Damien Yates of Churchill finsihed second with 28 Votes.
In the first 8 Rounds, Hayden Britton Police Boys and Jack Jenkins polled in 7 games, and Damien Yates and Troy Forrest polled in 6 games to all be on the Leaderboard, which looked like:
1. Hayden Britton Police Boys 18 Votes, 2. Troy Forrest Cumberland Park 15 Votes & Jack Jenkins West End 15 Votes, 3. Damien Yates Churchill 13 Votes, 4. Will Flanigan TEDAS 13 Votes & 5. Ty Davidson Cumberland Park on 10 Votes.
In Rounds 9-12, Jack Jenkins was BOG in all four of his games as judged by the Umpires, picking up 12 votes to assume the lead. Damien Yates of Churchill also had four very good games, as he polled 2 BOGs and 2 x 2 votes to collect 10 votes for these games. Will Flanigan from TEDAS also polled well, collecting 7 votes in these games.
At the completion of Round 12 voting, the Leaderboard was 1. Jack Jenkins of West End with 27 Votes, 2. Damien Yates of Churchill with 23 Votes, 3. Hayden Britton of Police Boys with 21 Votes, 4. Will Flanigan of TEDAS with 20 votes, and 5. Troy Forrest of Cumberland Park with 17 Votes.
With two rounds to go, the winner was going to be Jack or Damien, as the others were too far back, with hayden being the only one with an outside chance, but he was out injured due to an injury suffered in a representative game a couple of weeks prior unfortunately.
Damien collected 3 votes for his efforts against Glengarry, to close the gap to one vote, but Jack picked up 2 votes for his game against City Juniors, to once again hold a 3 vote lead. In the last round, Damien Yates only managed to pick up two votes, with his team mate Brad Brereton getting the 3 votes for his 9 goal performance against Pax Hill, whereas Jack Jenkins in the last call of the count, collected 3 votes in his team's win over TEDAS to take out the award by 4 votes.
The final Leaderboard was - 1. Jack Jenkins of West End on 32 Votes, 2. Damien Yates of Churchill on 28 Votes, 3. Hayden Britten of Police Boys with 21 Votes, 4. Will Flanigan of TEDAS on 20 Votes, 5. Troy Forrest of Cumberland Park on 19 Votes, and 6. Michael Jacobson of Southside on 18 Votes.
