Junior Town Team Under 16 & 18 Boys and Girls Tryouts
The first of the two Tryouts for the Under 16 and 18 age groups were held last Sunday.
Coach of the Lakers Under 16 Girls was most pleased with the response of 18 players interested in representing Basketball Mount Gambier. It is likely that there will be two teams named in this group after the second training next Sunday.
Wayne Kennedy has taken on the role of coaching the Under 16 Boys team and will be looking for a couple more players to fill his complement at the second Tryout next Sunday.
Head Coach of the Pioneers, Andrew Summerville has been appointed Coach of the Lakers Under 18 Men and will be working with a group comprising mainly “bottom age” players. The second session for this squad is on Wednesday at 4.30p.m.
Melissa Rathjen will be in charge of the Under 18 Women this season and, like the Under 18 Men, this team will have a majority of “bottom age” members.
After the squads are selected teams will train on a weekly basis in preparation for the Murray Bridge Junior Tournament, the first of the season
