The Southern Football League hosted the 2010 Interleague fixture
against our friends Riddell District Football League on Saturday 3rd
July at Springvale Reserve.
The Colts played a fantastic free flowing game of football
with small patches of the game touched by Melbourne
winter drizzle not that it affected the high skill level demonstrated by the
young 18 year olds. Although the SFL were leading with only minutes to play, unfortunately
like 2009, RDFL finished the game strong and took the bragging rights by 8 hard
fought points.
Sam Fox (Skye FC) was awarded best on ground for the SFL
Colts.
Mitchell Streiff was awarded best on ground for the RDFL
Colts.
SFL 1.1 2.3 6.5 7.

The Seniors played a hard contested match which opened up to
a great display of senior community football. The rain thankfully stayed away for
the duration of the senior match and the sun began to shine during the close
tussle second half. The RDFL kicked the first couple of minor scores for the
day when the SFL quickly responded with the first goal of the match. From there,
the SFL never looked back and absorbed the RDFL challenge at every break to
finish the game as 45 point victors.
Luke Kirkland (Mordialloc FC) was awarded best on ground for
the SFL Seniors.
Dean Smith-Whiting was awarded best on ground for the RDFL
Seniors.
