Not all tipsters selected Echuca to knock off Mooroopna last Saturday but most did. Cats Coach Brad CAMPBELL certainly read the Murray Bombers correctly in that they were cherry ripe for the picking as they (Echuca) had two very big wins against Shepparton (137 points) and Euroa (129 points) in their previous hit-outs. Mooroopna were on the way back having defeated Shepparton the previous round by 110 points after getting belted by Kyabram in Round 9. The Cats did not have a passenger all day whereas Justin DORWARD would have been about the only Murray Bomber who had the better of his opponents all game. Shepp United will really enjoy this week-end off because they have serious games in Rounds 12 & 13. Chris SCHIRMER was excellent for Mooroopna. At Deakin Reserve, Shepp United defeated Benalla by 101 points, 19.13 (127) to the Saints 3.8 (26). Sam DAWES kicked another 6 to take his tally to 17 over the last 3 games while The Hulk Jason EAGLE gets 100% fit. United played a former Bushranger Premiership player and team-mate of Steele SIDEBOTTOM in the form of Matthew PIANTO and will be hoping like crazy they can qualify him for the finals as he is a real find. And lookout for another recruit after the bye. Chris DUBE kicked all of the Saints goals who was well supported by James MARTINELLO and Shayne McKEAN. Down at Seymour the Lions defeated Shepparton 12.12 (84) to 4.14 (38) which despite the 7 goal win did not please Coach Bernie HABERMAN who has been quoted that the Lions "best in good enough (to play finals) but our worst is pretty bad." Paul COLBERT kicked 4 to bring his average goals per game this year to an even 5. Sean HARRAP kicked 3 for the Bears.
Another terrific game is tipped to be played at Princess Park where the Shepparton Swans host Kyabram who will be really looking forward to this game as a big challenge. Kyabram defeated Seymour comfortably last game with Paul NEWMAN and Kayne PETTIFER both kicking 6 and Simon SEDDON best on the ground by a street who also kicked 3. The Swans last match was a loss by 11 points up at Mansfield - Robbo kicked 4 and Damien YZE kicked 3 - the Kyabram Bombers will be very much aware of this fact and will be placing a lot of responsibiity upon Nathan BECK and Josh VICK - your tipster states that these strong young men will do the job on the Swans and will be a major reason why Ky will win and win well. Another top game will be over at the Moon Oval at Rochester where the Tigers take on the Mansfield Eagles. Rochy are sitting 5th on the ladder with 6 wins/4 losses & a % of 122.14 - the Eagles are sitting 8th on the ladder with 5 wins/5 losses (same as the Swans who are 7th) Rochy must win to consolidate themselves in the top 6 - Mansfield must win to take Seymour's 6th spot on the ladder as they have a better %. Mansfield had a good win against the Swans last outing where on the same day the Tigers defeated Benalla by just under 5 goals. Remember Round 6 when the Swans kicked 10 goals in the last quarter over at Rochy to defeat the Tiges? Your Tipster tips ...... ....... ....... Ned and the Eagles. The Magpies v the Bulldogs at Euroa. Tatura have been very good over the last few weeks and in particular their last game when they defeated Shepp United by 5 points a fortnight ago - Euroa really try and they will give it there all at home but this won't be enough to knock over the Bulldogs - Tat to win by 4 or 5 goals.
Until next week (Round 12) when we have the 6 games on the Saturday July 10th - take care out there!
