Our Big V players and supporters have raised more than $4000 at the club's first Big V Auction Night, a huge success and a fantastic addition to Warrandyte Basketball's annual fundraising efforts.

About 100 people enjoyed the evening at Action Indoor Sports in Ringwood, with auction items donated by the players fetching more than $4000.

"It was a great success," said president Justin Nelson, adding, "I think you'll find this will be an annual fundraiser for sure.

"Our aim was to raise $2500, so to go past $4000 is a huge effort and everyone who attended the night deserves a big pat on the back for helping the club raise important funds.

"I'm really proud of the fact that we don't pay senior players at Warrandyte Basketball and the money we raised tonight goes back into our basketball programs, particularly our junior programs.

"The senior players really supported the event and were wrapped to raise so much money, there's no doubt they saw tonight as an opportunity to help give something back. I appreciate their support and hard work on making it such an enjoyable night."

Other fundraisers and events on the calendar this year include a Chocolate Drive, Team Photos, the annual Club Awards Night and the very popular club Trivia Night.
