The match of the round is between the two undefeated sides Beulah and Ouyen United who meet at Beulah. Ouyen United and Beulah have both won all their matches so far this season with ease.
The Blues will start the favourites but the loss of Jake Percy last week will take some fire out of their forward line. The Demons will rely on getting the ball down quickly to Ash Connick who has been kicking large bags of goals this season. Beulah’s Clayton Shannon will have to be at his best to keep Connick down. Ash Connick is a strong mark but Shannon will play him close.
At the other end of the ground Jarred Combe has been kicking goals for the Blues and if the Demons defence lets him get away he will cause a lot of damage. Both sides have good running players with Tom Hallam giving Beulah plenty of drive around the centre while Ouyen United’s Glenn Joyce and Ben Gregg will provide plenty of run up forward.
This game will be played at a cracker pace as both sides move the ball fast and on the open Beulah ground it should be a good spectacle as both defences have done the job asked this year. Beulah may have the better in the ruck division and at home the Blues should continue their winning way.
At Jeparit the Lakers are at home to Hopetoun and this should be a good game. Jeparit Rainbow has been improving each week until last week when they came up against Ouyen United.
Hopetoun had the bye so they should be fit. Hopetoun’s Leigh Hutchinson is having a good season as is Marcus Burdett. Hopetoun have had Bryce Wellington at full forward which has given them a focal point.
The Lakers rely on Heath and Ash Clugston to give them drive and with Peter Weir they have been able to score well. This game will have many good match ups and both teams have good runners who move the ball well. Jeparit Rainbow at home may be able to notch up another win.
Walpeup Underbool is at home to Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers who last week put up a good show against Beulah and only went down by 26 points. Walpeup Underbool had a big win over Woomelang Lascelles and with some players starting to strike form. This will be a good match.
The Tigers should have Nathan Wight and Matt McLeod back in the side while the Roos will be looking for Kane Munro and Warrick Brady to return to the team. Ryan Dowdy at full forward or in a forward pocket is dangerous.
The Roos full forward Matt Brown struck form last week with 9 goals and Simon Markham was also a focal point in the forward line. Both teams have some very good runners. The Tigers with Col Durie all over the ground has been the difference this season. The Roos runners have been good and they move the ball well but with both sides needing to win expect the Tigers to come away with the points. Woomelang Lascelles has the bye.
