No real knock me down with a feather upsets last week-end but perhaps a few raised eyebrows with the apparent ease of Mooroopna's win over Rochester, Echuca's defeat of Shepp United and Robbo notching up 12 with the Swans in their big win over Seymour. Mansfield recorded a 23 point win over Euroa and Tatura scored a 15 point victory over Shepparton in an excellent game on Sunday. Linc WELLINGTON and Tom DURWOOD would nearly have had to have got Morrison Medal votes as they were terrific all day.
The highlight games in this PINK RIBBON BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION Round will be down at Seymour where the Lions take on the Tigers from Rochester. The Tigers were without Scott HANN, Sam BRENNAN, Heaith AITKEN and Ash WATSON which may be some reason why the Mooroopna Cats knocked them over by 45 points last round - if the Tiges can have these players on Kings Park they should be able to take the points as it seems the Lions are still a little bit away from top form. Likewise at Mooroopna, the Cats take on the Shepparton United Demons in the other Pink Ribbon game. Down at Seymour and at Mooroopna, pink footies will be used in the Senior games and pink netballs will be used in the A Grade games. Please support this Foundation as probably everyone of us is or have been touched by bloody cancer! The undefeated Cats will start favourites but perhaps if the Demons can find other goal kickers as well as Jason EAGLE then they might be able to keep in touch. It seems the Cats do have numerous avenues to score the 6 pointers along with Craig WHELAN who too is averaging a bit over 5 goals a game. The Cats should win by 5 goals. Echuca should account for the Tatura Bulldogs after the Murray Bombers very professional performance against Shepp United last Saturday night - Tat. will have a dip but will not have the strength to match Echuca. Hendo and his lads were very impressive against United which begs the question? How come they only kicked a point in the last quarter at home against Rochester in Round 3 when Rochy in that same last quarter kicked 8 goals? The Shepparton Bears take on the Benalla Saints at Deakin Reserve which could be a really close game that could go right down to the wire - the tip? Benalla to rack up their first win for 2010. Kyabram Bombers host the Mansfield Eagles - another game that could finish with very little between the scores. Even though the game is at Ky. the Eagles get the nod. The Shepparton Swans are on their own turf for the second week on the trot and with Robbo kicking12 last week against the Lions who defeated Euroa the week before, what are the odds that Robbo gets another double digit bag and the Swans have a big win over the Euroa Magpies.
On this week-end but especially on Sunday, please either see or contact or think of your Mum - Mums really are special people. Until next week, Round 6 - Take Care! Saturday 22nd May we go up to Lavington which is just a little bit North of Albury to give the O & M a bit of a touch up. Please make an effort to go up and support our boys - it really is an easy drive on the Hume and the ground is easy to find. The ground has excellent facilities with terrific viewing points. Please make an effort! Out senior squad boys had a really enthusiastic training session down at Seymour on Wednesday evening as did our Under 18 boys at Deakin - if we can be as keen as our players we will be there supporting then. Go GV!
