This Saturday, Jeparit Rainbow travel to Woomelang to take on Woomelang Lascelles. The Lakers had a good win last week over Walpeup Underbool and will go into this game with plenty of confidence.
Woomelang Lascelles on the other hand have been on the receiving end of two large losses but at home they will be looking to Jason Kreuger and Anthony Foott in the forward line to convert. Tony Mudge has been busy around the centre but the Cats must look to an improvement in their team play and not rely on individuals to win games.
Jeparit Rainbow last week was a much improved side with Peter Weir at full forward giving them a tall target to kick to. Ben Zanker left the ground with an injury last week and may be an unlikely starter. Jayden Werner was very good and gave the team drive and with Ash Clugston picking up kicks each week the Lakers may prove to be too good in this game unless the Cats show a reversal of form
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers are hosting Hopetoun at Sea Lake not Berriwillock. Hopetoun will be very keen to build on their form against Walpeup Underbool. With Marcus Burdett dominating the centre, Leigh Hutchinson back to his best and Bryce Wellington showing potential, the Devils will be confident of doing well.
The Tigers last week lost to Ouyen United after a very hard close tussle for 3 quarters. Ouyen United proved to be too good in the last term. Col Durie was very good in the centre for the Tigers and his battle with Hopetoun’s Marcus Burdett should be a highlight. Tiger’s big man, Luke Martin, is another player in good form and forward Nathan Wight was well held last week but if he is not checked he could prove to be a handful for Hopetoun.
With this game at Sea Lake perhaps the Tigers will bounce back to record a good win.
The remaining game between Beulah and Walpeup Underbool will be played at Underbool. The Roos could be facing 4 losses on the trot if they don’t win this one.
Walpeup Underbool has some key injuries and players appear to be playing out of position. Tim Vallance and Chris Vorwerk, last week against Jeparit Rainbow, tried hard to lift the team and were very busy all day.
Beulah have been on fire and with players like Tom Hallam, Brad Shannon dominating around the ground and Jake Percy and Jarred Combe converting in front of goals, the Roo’s will find it hard, even at home, to come away with the points in this game.
Ouyen United have the bye
NOTE: The game between Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers and Hopetoun has been transferred to Sea Lake as Locust have eaten the Berriwillock ground b
