The Chairman of the Goulburn Valley Football League Mr Ian McDONALD, the General Manager Mr Keith WELLMAN and staff and board members of the GVFL, extend our deepest sympathy to the family of the late Mike KISS who passed away last Monday morning. Mike was aged 63 and had been bothered with a heart condition for some time. Mike should be forever remembered by the Mooroopna Football Club and Mooroopna town as he had a life long involvement with his quiet efforts and achievements for his beloved club and town. Well known Mooroopna identity Graeme "Pee Wee" YOUNG has been quoted as referring to Mick (or Mike or Kissy) as a man who would lend his time to help with anything in the community - he was a quiet achiever who never pushed himself or stood out but if someone asked him to do something he would do it and do it very well. Often Mick would do things without being asked such as updating the Mooroopna footy club's players records - that was the sort of person he was. He did anything with a minimum of fuss. Mike served as the Cats President for three years, in seasons 1994, '95 and 1996 following the path of his late father Vernon who was also a Mooroopna Football Club President in 1971. One special effort of Mike was his involvement with the publishing of the history of the Mooroopna Football Club in the book "Symmetry of Souls; Blues Brothers and Cats Cousins" written by the late Shepparton NEWS journalist Tom CAREY. Mike was a true Gentleman and it was pleasure to know the man. Rest In Peace Mike.
