Panthers Purple, a regular in Men’s B Grade for many, many seasons returned to the winner’s circle this season with somewhat of a surprise grand final win over minor premier Clean Skins. Hard working John Simkin and new player Tom Lockett were the on court leaders for Purple in an exciting game. The final score of 44-37 does not truly reflect the closeness of the contest. Matt Collins led the way for Clean Skins.

The MVP Grand Final Award went to Tom Lockett of Panthers Purple.

The Most Valuable Award for the season resulted in a history making three way tie between Jimmy Fleming of Tigers, Dylan Bromley of Raptors and Mark Kilpatrick of Panthers Purple. They each polled 19 votes. Daniel Collins was runner-up on 17.

The Women’s Social grand Final was won by Haz Beanz, the stand out side of this competition. Sharp Shooter Shelley Cornolo scored a game high 14 points in her side’s 35-20 win over a gallant Kerbies, who showed solid form late in the season.

Lisa King of Haz Beanz was MVP for the final.

Dana Hirst of Violet Vixens scored 22 votes to win the season MVP Award from Shelley Cornolo on 20.

The Men’s Social grand final between Panthers and Beagle Boys Red provided the excitement for the series. It was a close contest with Red leading by narrow margins for most of the match. In the closing minutes Panthers managed to get a one point lead and looked set for another title. Not to be denied Red stole the ball and Matt Vivian converted in the final seconds to give his side a 31-30 win. The grand final MVP award went to Grant White of Beagle Boys Red

Rohan Harrap of Panthers won his second Most Valuable player for season award with a score of 19 votes. Joint runners-up were team mate Jordan Ewer and David Hurley of Beagle Boys Red who received 14 votes.
