30 Men – Canterbury v Bay of Plenty

Once again the game between these two provinces started out fast and furious.
Canterbury took an early lead with #2 scoring the first touchdown from an explosive show of acceleration and skill to get through an early gap in Bay's defensive line.
Bay of Plenty through #16 we’re quick to respond through a long ball.
A seasaw game saw both teams not holding the ball for the full touch count and nil tries scored for 7 minutes. Canterbury appeared not to be playing their normal structured game with forced error numbers creeping into the first half.
Canterbury #3 broke the touchdown draught to score a touchdown off a long ball from #4 Scott Grant. BOP responded with a minute to go in the first half through when #2 slipped through a gap created when the Canterbury defence were late on a shut.
Half time score was 2 all.
First to score a touchdown was Canterbury #14 from a good off-load play from #9.
#3 for Bay of Plenty Shamos Hunter was sin binned at a critical time during the game, Canterbury took full advantage of only 5 on the field to get a touchdown by #12 .
Bay of Plenty struck back quickly with only 5 players on the field #9 touched down on the wing from a longball play.
A quick and structured attack plays from Canterbury saw #5 and #12 pass the line for the final touchdowns of the game. Leaving the full time score of 6 – 4 Canterbury.
