DUANE Bodey will coach Carngham-Linton during the 2010 Lexton Plains Football League season.
A multiple premiership player with the Saints, Bodey takes over the reins from last season's joint coaches Jason Hill and Jade Keam.
Hill has indicated he will play with Lake Wendouree in the Ballarat Football League, while the Saints hope to retain the services of Keam solely as a player.
Carngham-Linton president Dave Linane said the club was pleased with the appointment of Bodey, who will offer plenty of guidance to the young crop of emerging Saints.
"We are going to have a young side, a lot of young kids and it's probably good to get someone with Digger's (Bodey's) experience to help the young kids through," Linane said.
The club had talked to a number of different candidates before settling on Bodey, he said.
"Digger said all along if we couldn't get anybody he would put his hand up to do it," Linane said.
"At this stage he will be a non-playing coach."
Bodey will be joined by two assistant coaches - James Rayner and former Kalkee (Horsham District Football League) youngster Tom Magee.
Carngham-Linton kicks off its LPFL season with a home clash against Ararat Eagles on Saturday, April 17.
