Port Douglas has turned to the past to restore hope for the future by appointing 2005 premiership-winning coach Andy Viola to lead the club in next year's AFL Cairns competition.
Viola takes over from 2009 coach Shaun Valenta, who did not reapply for the position.
The Crocs ere a title force under Viola's reign during the middle of the decade and beleive the popular mentor can rebuild the club following a difficult 2009.
