Player Life Member Kane Smith
On Saturday 20th June in the Match against Victor Harbor Kane became the 58th player to play 225 A Grade games and join the list of Player life Members of the GSFL.
Kane began his playing career in 1988 for the Strathalbyn Junior Colts where he played all 21 games for the season – in 1989 his number of games moved along very quickly as he played 18 Junior Colt games as well as 17 senior colt games in that year.
He played the first of his A grade games while still a Senior Colt as a 16 year old.
He is the Son of the Legendary Mail Medallist Brenton Smith so as a Junior he was a regular member of the Junior Association Teams then moved on to Represent the League in the Senior grades.
Injuries along the way have prevented him attaining this Milestone a little quicker, but he has amassed the total of 401 games for the Club with 232 A Grade, 34 Reserves, 75 senior Colt and 60 Junior Colt games over the years.
Congratulations to Kane on this Milestone.
