Pipped at the Post ...

It was a well fought game by Cook Islands...but Fiji just edged their way back in the last quarter - winning the game 52-50.
Their was some great display of defence work by the Cook Islanders from Maddison Nicholas (WD, Luciana Matenga (GD) and Pori Rongokea (GK) - constantly working hard to regain possession of the ball... with Nicholas and Matenga making some crucial intercepts however not converting those intercepts into points on the ball.
At times the Cook Islands seemed to have problems getting the ball through the mid court having to turn and throw the ball backwards. Fiji put pressure on the Cooks side right from the first whistle, and at times showed their physical style of play.
Although Cook Islands may not have got the result they wanted.... The Cook Island Team can hold their heads up high...... "It was another magnificent display of netball, another nail biting game by the Cooks"
Cooks will now play for Bronze at 1pm Saturday 26th Sept.
Fiji have now confirmed a place in the finals for Gold or Silver. With finals being played at 3.30pm.

The vocal Fiji supporters were jubilant over their team's performance.
