SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND MEMBER CLUBS CONGRATULATE THE 2009 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
David Whiley
(Player, Coach, Umpire, Administrator Service - 29 Years of Service & Ongoing).
David Whiley has enjoyed a long service to football in two leagues. As well as his service in the Hills League he has played for Kangarilla in the Hills Football League prior to the club joining the SFL. In 1973 David won Kangarilla’s Best & Fairest but lost the Mail Medal on a count back. The medal was awarded retrospectively in 1999.
He continues to serve the game as an umpire and is the current Secretary/Manager of the CSFLUP.
Gary Bilney
(Player, Umpire, Administrator - 27 years of service & ongoing).
Gary Bilney has had a distinguished career spread over two leagues and is still continuing to serve the game as an umpire. He won the Club Championship Award on three occasions before Kangarilla joined the Southern League. He has played in 3 B grade premierships, won the B grade Best & Fairest and was Division 11 leading goal kicker in 1981. He was runner up in the 1984 Mail Medal and the 1997 Ken Donne Medal.
Gary was awarded a merit award for his service to the game in S.F.L. and in 2000 was awarded an Australian Sports Medal. He has never been reported in a career that started in 1971 in the Hills Football League.
Gary is proud of the fact that he was never reported or sent off during his long career.
Craig Warman
(Player, Coach, Administrator - 28 Years service and ongoing).
Craig Warman is one of the special people who have progressed from player to club administrator to League Administrator to the position of league president. And has filled all roles with great dignity. He has also been a strong supporter of Inter- league football at all levels and, as well as being on the SDFCA committee, has taken team management roles with the Southern Zone team. He is extremely proud of the league and its long history and always supports initiatives for its betterment.
Shane Fishlock
(Player - 21 Years of service).
Shane Fishlock is arguably one of Morphett Vale’s greatest players ever. He was runner up to the club Best & Fairest in 1987, 2001 and 2004 as well as winning the award on six occasions. He played 6 League games for Glenelg during 1994 &1995. Premiership player in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. Southern Football League Player Life Member and represented the League 6 times in Inter League competition. 2009 saw Shane reach an incredible 300 A Grade games.
